The message on Sunday: Stumbling Forward with Peter; Luke 22 - The Last Supper, Jesus Prays, Jesus Arrested. In vs 49-51, Peter pulls out a sword and cuts an ear. When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him. My Notes: Peter was a fisherman. It was not like him to have a sword. But in Luke 22:36 Jesus tells the disciples to carry them.  But he never tells them what to do with them. Possibly because he meant figurative not literal and didn't bother to explain.  Peter made the assumption about what to do with the sword. Someone even asked. But Peter went ahead. My Application It has been helpful this week in a battle I have been in. I have been given tools and info that could be used against my enemy. But Peter's sword keeps coming to mind.  I...

I think my word of the year is trust. Trust in God I know that God can do anything, trust is knowing that E's looking out for me. Trust in others Learning to trust more in those who love me, and to be more open to others who care a little. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path.

We know that God knows what we need, and cares about it. He cares about us enough for us to share our concerns. We can rest knowing that he will answer with what's best for us,  provide for our needs. You know what we can pray for, that he has already promised? The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faith, gentleness and sell control. See how it starts will love, joy and peace? Isn't that really the end game of most of our requests?  What we wish for ourselves, and for others? If your live is filled with peace and joy and love, you don't have room for worry. If you have joy and peace, you can have patience. And what caps it? Love. To love and be loved. We love him, because he first loved us. Oh what love. Thought: Hope can be internal or external. Hopelessness is internal. There can always be an external condition or force to change a circumstance, but hopelessness is a feeling that exists only in our minds.
