Job 31 Man: Introduction

Much attention has been given to the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. Therefore in fairness, I introduce the study, The Job 31 Man. In Job 31, Job defends himself to God, in what turns out to be a pretty good measure of how good a man can be. Today, I will just introduce the subject, and the general outline. Job 31 Man 1-4 Purity 1 “I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gaze at a virgin? 2 “And what is the portion of God from above Or the heritage of the Almighty from on high? 3 “Is it not calamity to the unjust And disaster to those who work iniquity? 4 “Does He not see my ways And number all my steps? 5-8 Integrity 5 “If I have walked with falsehood, And my foot has hastened after deceit, 6 Let Him weigh me with accurate scales, And let God know my integrity. 7 “If my step has turned from the way, Or my heart followed my eyes, Or if any spot has stuck to my hands, 8 Let me sow and another eat, And let my crops be uprooted. 9-12 Fidelity...

Why Blackberry is Still Relevant (to me)

The New Blackberry Torch has been released.  http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices/blackberrytorch/torch_blackberry6.jsp Interesting features include the sliding keyboard, webkit browser, and the decision to support flash (not yet available. But what I like? I like not turning the phone sideways to type. I like a portrait view of my webmail and websites instead of an awkward wide view. Evo? iPhone? Nice, but no keyboard. I don't like typing on a touchscreen. My friends can have their iPhone/Android wars. I want to read/write email, occasional phone calls, and look things up on the web quickly on my phone. I have yet to try the phone, so I don't know if it lives up to my expectations. But I am still excited.

Hierarchy of Needs for Usability: Functional, Reliable, Usable, Pleasurable

Image
There was a great article on Emotional Interface Design on Carsonified.com by Aaron Walter The interfaces we design must first be functional – they need to solve a problem for us. Next, they need to be reliable – no fail whales please. Our interfaces need to be usable – easy to learn, easy to use, and easy to remember. The piece we often overlook is the pleasure. It’s at the core of culinary arts, but we find it far too infrequently in the web apps and websites we use daily. But what I liked best was this image: http://carsonified.com/blog/design/emotional-interface-design-the-gateway-to-passionate-users/
