CI: Cochlear Implant -Success? Failure?
Here's a video of a "Bionic" woman, who has had the surgery, and is having it adjusted. Apparently, the surgery is not as bad as it used to be.

It's hard to get any neutral ideas about CI (Cochlear Implants), because most people are highly passionate both ways - either for or against them.
There are many anecdotal pieces from both sides, but hardly a way to see successes/failures together. How would someone know how to choose?
Plus, there is the issue of being "almost hearing" and "almost deaf" at the same time - kind of between to worlds, two very different cultures. Sometimes receiving support from the Deaf, and not fitting in with the hearing, and sometimes vice versa.
